Artist Bio
Leo H. Hays is a photographer based in Fairbanks, Alaska. As an Ecology major, Leo spends much of his time outdoors in various landscapes and weather conditions documenting nature. Working in both color and black & white, he uses focuses on textures, patterns and light to capture landscapes, wildlife, and the intricate details of the natural world.
Artist Statement
Being outdoors and observing nature is one of my passions, whether or not I have my camera on me. I want to share this passion with the rest of the world, to showcase the incredible designs and patterns of nature through an artistic lens. To photograph, for me, is to be strictly in the present moment. Especially when photographing and filming wildlife, one is able to witness the sensitivity and intelligence of lifeforms on this planet that are often easily overlooked.
